We snuck in another trail work day ahead of the next storm on Saturday March 5. I met up with Dan Cicchelli, Beto Campos, Ryan Shaw, Chris Muller, Edward Wang and Neil Feerick at the Sunrise Picnic area on Mt. Laguna. We hiked over the PCT, fired up The Obliterator and began working our way south clearing out the overgrowth. In total, we cleared about 1.3 miles, which may be a new one-day record for TrailFit. I was cutting brush as fast as my little feet would go and the crew was right behind me ready to toss the cuttings, lop off various branches and otherwise make themselves useful. Extra points go to the crew for also picking up quite a bit of trash along this part of the trail. Check out the attached photo of the crew systematically attacking the trail. It looks fantastic.
Post-work, we drove over to Todd's cabin, where my wife Anita, had been waiting and tending the fire in the wood stove. Thanks to Todd for the use of the cabin! We had a nice lunch, washed down with a bottle of Stone's Cali-Belgique IPA. Thanks to the crew for their hard work.
