Trail work reports archive

It was a lovely spring morning today on Mt. Laguna.  Sunny and crisp.  Alas, a bit too sunny and crisp because the Forest Service said we could not operate power equipment today.  So, it was back to old school trail work with just hand tools.  But, did that intimidate our crew?  Of course not!
I met up with Kelsey Hausken, Daniel Griffin, Jonathan Hunter, Cesar Salas and Umberto Guerrero at the Red Tail Roost Activity Center.  We hiked over to the PCT near Burnt Rancheria campground and began working south.  We ran into several thru hikers heading north on the PCT.  Everyone was quite appreciative of our efforts to maintain and improve the PCT.
We cleared about a mile of trail, making it almost all the way to Dale's Soup Kitchen.  On our hike out, we came across a bizarre looking mushroom.  See photo.  Can anyone identify it?  Looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland.
Post work lunch was at Todd's cabin (thanks Todd!).  I fear that poor Kelsey may have gotten some dust on her brand new Range Rover driving up the dirt road......
Thanks, as always, to our crew for all their hard work today.  We got a lot done on the PCT, and hopefully will finish up our work out there next week.  Happy running!
